About Me and My Work
Nature is often uppermost in my mind when making my work, but it is colour, shape, line, form and pattern which are my foremost inspirations.
"Nature is beautiful in that it appears to say more than it is... artworks become artworks in the production of that 'more'."
Theodore Adorno, Aesthetic Theory.
The process of production is important to me. I work in a variety of mediums including paint, print and textiles, often combining one or more medium to create an artwork, building it up through many stages or layers, the whole process sometimes taking several months to complete a single piece.
I have a BA (Hons) Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey and have recently completed an MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester (2018). I exhibit my work regularly in the South East of England, have work in private collections and have also taken part in touring exhibitions in the UK, Europe and the USA. When I am not in my studio, I work as a freelance curator and arts development consultant.
